WELCOME HOME!

Hey, we're Grace Bible Church, and authentic is who we are!

We know life is complicated—work stress, relationships, finding your purpose—it's a lot. Our church is a community of people who are genuinely trying to figure things out and experience God in the middle of all of it. We have a solid foundation of faith and we're constantly looking at how the Bible actually helps us live today.

It still remains true no matter what year it is! Jesus has no expiration date!

No matter your background, your doubts, or where you're at in your journey, you are welcome here. Our doors are open every Sunday, or you can check us out during the week.

Come as you are. All grace, all truth, all the time.

our story

In 1978, several Georgetown families began hosting Bible studies in their homes. As time went by, it became clear God had something more planned.

In 1979, Grace Bible Fellowship Church was formed under the guidance of another local pastor. The first Sunday service was held on January 6, 1980, at the Georgetown airport. Grace became known as the “church in the hangar,” and the pastor occasionally had to pause his message due to the noise of the airplanes.

In 1989, the time had come for the church to relocate. They held their first service at their new home on March 5. The Serenada home served GBC well for many years, but as they were blessed by continuous growth, the church eventually outgrew the limited space.

In 2014, the church moved to its present location on Shell Road. From its humble beginnings in at-home Bible groups to the prayers and verses written on the framing boards of its current location, the story of Grace Bible Church is a story of God’s guidance and faithfulness. That is the story we hope will continue to be told about GBC for years to come.

In July 2023, the Spanish Ministry became part of GBC.

frequently asked questions

Since you are new here, you probably have a question or two. This page will hopefully answer some of your questions.  If your question is not listed here, we invite you to send your questions to questions@gbcgt.org and one of our ministry staff members will be happy to respond to you.

  • WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST VISIT?

We'll have people ready to give you a warm welcome. Seriously, don't worry about getting lost—we're happy to show you around and get you exactly where you need to be.

Got questions? Ask us anything! We can fill you in on the worship service vibe, the different classes we offer, who's on the staff, and, of course, where the free coffee bar is.

We also put together a Visitors Welcome Booklet (think of it as a cheat sheet) you can take home. It has the deeper scoop on everything about our church.

And finally, once the service wraps up, swing by the Welcome Table on your way out. We'd love to answer any last-minute questions and hook you up with a little welcome gift!

  • Where do I park?

Parking is super easy. You can park in the front or along the sides of the building.

We saved you some prime real estate: there are first-time visitor spots and handicap parking clearly marked and right near the front door.

Need a hand getting around? We also have wheelchairs available if you need one!

  • What style of service do you have?

Good news: Both services are exactly the same vibe and format!

You can expect us to be singing some praise and worship songs, hearing a great message from our pastor, and sometimes checking out a cool video presentation.

Right as the service wraps up, we always offer a chance for some personal, confidential prayer with someone from our Prayer Team—but obviously, that's totally up to you.

  • DO YOU HAVE A DRESS CODE? WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE WEAR ON SUNDAYS?

Forget the dress code—seriously, come as you are!

Our crew is super diverse (different ages, backgrounds, the whole nine yards), so you'll see everything from folks rocking jeans to people in a suit.

The main thing is this: we want you to show up knowing you're going to be welcomed warmly, just the way you are. No need to stress about it!

  • DO YOU HAVE SUNDAY SCHOOL OR ADULT CLASSES ON SUNDAYS?

On most Sundays, we usually have at least one or two classes or studies just for adults.

Want to see what's happening now? You can click here for the current list.

If you decide to check one out, just tell one of our greeters! They'll be happy to walk you over to the class and make sure you get introduced.

  • MAY I BRING MY YOUNG CHILDREN TO THE WORSHIP SERVICE?

We get it—especially during your first few visits, we want you to be comfortable having your small children sit with you. That's absolutely fine!

That said, we do offer awesome programs for kids and youth that run during the worship services if you want to check those out.

  • DO WE CELEBRATE COMMUNION?

Yes, we do! We usually celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of every month.

The only time it changes is if the month has five Sundays—then we usually save it for our special 5th Sunday Family Service. Just a heads-up!

  • Is this a safe place to have doubts and ask hard questions?

We encourage any and all healthy conversations, and we welcome hard questions about faith and one's personal questions about it. Let's learn from each other.

  • How will I actually meet people and build real relationships?

The easy answer is this -- if you are open to participating in the life of the church you will meet folks when you attend an event, a class, a Sunday service or when you serve

  • Does your teaching address my actual life challenges?

Absolutely. Our teaching is the life application of God's Word in everyday life --in a season and out of season.

  • What is your church doing to make an impact in the local community and the world?

We're big on giving back, both locally and globally—we've got a pretty strong presence in both domestic and international missions.

But honestly, the biggest deal is that our church members are constantly out in the community, showing up and serving as volunteers in tons of different ways to meet actual needs. We're all about real-world impact!
